For we walk by faith, not by sight...II Corinthians 5:7

About Us

Jesus places things in our hearts, and He equips us for the job that we are called to do. His timing is perfect. Keep The Faith Ministry Board Members were in place and active since October 2000. The Board completed the necessary paperwork, and also organized the schedule including worship services, and methods to support the community. Everything began with prayer and seeking God’s direction. While reading through the book of Timothy, the name of the church came to Pastor Howard.

KTF Pulpit

Prior to the opening service, the pillars of Keep The Faith Ministry, which included: Pastor Henry Howard Jr., First Lady Yvonne Howard, Minister Gary Geiger, Minister Jane Geiger, Mother Mae Arnold, Sister Ebony Bannister, Sister Samara Howard, Brother Henry Howard III, and Sister Jenea Dozier, had prayer services weekly two months prior to opening.

On November 30, 2000, Pastor Howard preached at 1901 Harrison Street about the crucifixion of Jesus.  Here are a few highlights from that service:

Pastor told us that many years ago, one of the world’s greatest worries that the world had ever known was a man by the name of Napoleon. He had conquered city after city and nation after nation. History says that Napoleon would weep because there were no more worlds to conquer. One of Napoleon’s desires in life was to rule the nation of England, so he set his army forward to conquer the nation of England. England possessed a man that was fearless. He was not like Napoleon, and he was a man that others heard about. He was a man not given to fear, and his name was Wellington. London would be under attack soon, and Wellington said, “We have one hope. I will take my Army, and I will go to a place called Waterloo; and if I can stop Napoleon there, London would be spared.” They would monitor the battle by placing the status on a large board in London Square, and every so often the sign would change. Suddenly on a foggy afternoon, as the fog was rolling in, the message was posted so that the Londoner’s could read it, but the fog was so thick that no one could read how the war was progressing. But when the fog began to lift, it read these words, “Wellington defeated.” Fear broke out, and the Londoner’s began to say, “We’re next.” The fog continued to move so that the whole inscription could be read and it said, “Wellington defeated Napoleon at Waterloo.”

Then Pastor compared Wellington’s victory to Jesus’ victory over Satan. When Jesus was hung on that cross, it appeared to the whole world that everything had been lost; every hope had been dashed; every plan destroyed; every dream of the Messiah was gone. When He had drew His last breath, the world read it this way, “Christ defeated,” but the world forgot resurrection was on its way; you never want to shout on Friday, Sunday’s coming. But when the fog began to lift, the whole inscription could be read.  It said:

The opening service was filled with joy, friends, and family from various churches. Five other people joined the ministry that day and several consented to baptism. The first few baptisms were done in the tub at the parsonage, as a pool was not readily available.

The next day, service was held on the first Sunday in December (December 1, 2000). The church is an active member of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW) and participates in quarterly meetings with other churches within the state of Pennsylvania.

Keep The Faith Ministry has since grown into a ministry of helps, whereby the ministry assists individuals in the community through the food and clothing, and evangelism/outreach ministries.  Keep The Faith Ministry is truly a “faith based ministry.” We believe prayer is the key that unlocks every door. To this day each service begins with prayer, and ends with giving respect to God.
